The incident occurred last evening after which the attackers speeded away without any resistance from security personnel posted at the university gates, police said today.
The injured have been identified as Qamrul Hasan and Talha who are undergoing treatment for bullet injuries and are stated to be in serious condition.
The two former students are members of the University Drama Club and had gone to the campus for a rehearsal when the incident took place.
An FIR in this regard has been registered against two persons identified as Fahad and Yasir.
He had gone on an indefinite hunger strike yesterday demanding revocation of his suspension and relaxation in minimum mandatory 75 per cent attendance for appearing in annual examinations.
