Two injured in fire mishap

Two persons sustained severe injuries in a major fire that broke out at a godown in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area in the wee hours today.
In a separate incident, 21 fire tenders had to be rushed to northeast Delhi's Mandoli area after a major fire broke out at a godown there this morning. However, no casualties were reported in this case.
In the first incident, the fire broke out at a godown which stored packages for sweets around 1.40 AM, following which four fire tenders were rushed there and a rescue operation was conducted, said a fire official.
Two of the workers, identified as Dinesh (40) and Jatin (25), fainted after they were severely choked by the smoke. They received severe burn injuries and are presently recovering at LNJP Hospital here, the fire official said.

It took around four and a half hours for the firefighters to douse the flames, the official added.
In the second incident, a major fire broke out at a medicine godown in Mandoli village following which 21 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
No casualties were reported in the incident which took place around 8.30 AM, said a police official, adding that the fire is suspected to have originated from a short circuit.
It took four hours for the firefighters to douse the flames, following which a cooling operation was launched, a fire official said.
