The vehicle was returning to Rampur after dropping a patient at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) at Shimla when the mishap took place.
The ambulance with driver Sunil (28) and pharmacist Ajay (30) on board met with an accident around 3.30 AM, just few km before reaching their destination Rampur.
The ambulance rolled down into a deep gorge near Bhadrash near Rampur in early hours and both the occupants died on the spot, SP Shimla, D.W Negi said.
Both the deceased Ajay and Sunil hailed from nearby villages of Shingla and Barara.
The relatives of the deceased alleged that the ambulance was in need of repairs and the staff was being forced to work overtime and blamed the officials of the company running the ambulance service for the mishap.
