Two killed as van overturns

Two persons were killed and one was seriously injured when they were buried under sacks full of wheat after a matador van they were travelling in overturned at Ghatampur area in Bidhnu district here, police said today.
The deceased, identified as Rambabu (55) and Deepchandra (27), were admitted to a hospital immediately where they succumbed to their injuries.
The incident took place yesterday when in order to escape a pit on the road, Deepchandra lost control over the vehicle loaded with wheat sacks, police said.
The sacks then fell on the victims who got buried under them, police said, adding, locals rushed to the area and helped them get the weight off their bodies.

The third person, Virender, is seriously injured and his condition is stated to be critical.
According to police, the main reason behind the accident was the overloading of the van and a probe into the matter has been initiated.
