The incident occurred when the speeding jeep driver lost control and hit the roadside hut, killing Sakunti Devi (45) and her grand-daughter (5) while they were asleep.
The girl's mother Ramdulari Kumari sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital.
The driver of the vehicle escaped unhurt, police said.
