The mishap took place yesterday when the tanker was proceeding to Mumbai from Chalisgaon and skidded at Umbracha village diversion near Malshej Ghat, killing driver Nimba Patil (60) and occupant Shivaji Darade (40), they said.
The injured were being treated at Murbad hospital, police said.
Tokawade police said that bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem and a case has been registered under section 304 of the IPC and MV Act against the driver of the tanker.
