The deceased have been identified as Chaitanya Charan Parida (45) and Hemalata Parida (40) of Neulpur village under Dharmasala police station limits in the district.
The labourers were returning to their homes in the tractor after loading it with spool and boulder from an unauthorized quarry from reserved Neulpur hill when the mishap occurred.
The injured were rushed to the local government hospital and later one of them was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.
Driver of the tractor fled from the scene soon after the mishap, police said.
The bodies have been sent to district head quarter hospital for post mortem and further investigation is on, police said. PTI COR AAM
