Police officers said the two arrested Maoists have been identified as Devendra Sahni and Bharat Thakur and they were nabbed from Aura Malkana village under Tariyani Chowk police station in the district.
"Both are suspects in several cases of violence across Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar and other places. The police had been searching for them for the past several years," said Tariyani Chow Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Rai.
Rai said the other two arrested persons were not Maoists, but seem to have links with the two arrested Naxals and the police were trying to verify their identities and links with the subversives.
Sheohar district, located around 140 kms north of Patna and close to the Indo-Nepal border has not been affected much by Left Wing Extremism (LWE) unlike its neighbouring Sitamarhi, East Champaran and Muzaffarpur districts.
