The accused Rohit Kumar Singh and Chandan Kumar Paswan, both residents of Lesligunj of the district, were arrested in connection with the incident, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, P R Burwar.
One pistol, three live cartridges and a mobile phone were seized from their possession, he said adding one Rajendra Yadav was already been arrested from Panki police station area about a fortnight ago in connection with the incident.
The arrested persons had torched the vehicle of Prof N K Singh on September 15 last, Burwar said adding, the accused had entered the residential compound in search of a contractor, Krishna Singh, who was a neighbour.
On the pretext of being Maoists, the accused had demanded levy from Krishna Singh, who had refused and the vehicle was torched presuming it was of the contractor's.
Burwar said the accused duo had link with Maoists leaders.
