Rajesh Kumar and his sister-in-law Poonam Rani, who were travelling with three other family members from Jammu to Batala, died on the spot when their car hit a private bus enroute Pathankot from Amritsar.
While Vijay Kumar, Rekha Rani and another unidentified relative were injured in the accident, the passengers of the bus escaped unhurt.
The bus caught fire after the accident due to a short circuit, police said, adding that a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver, who is absconding.
