Two militants killed in Assam

Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces at Chalibhui in Dhubri district of Assam today.
Acting on a tip-off, the Army and police jointly launched an operation in the area last night and an encounter ensued at about 3:50 AM with a group of insurgents, resulting in the death of two of them, a police spokesman said.
An AK-56 rifle, one 9mm pistol, two hand grenades, 40 rounds of AK ammunition were recovered from the slain utras.
The group of extremists is yet to be identified, the spokesman said.
