NDRF team saved six-year-old Aman Kumar from drowning in a pond where devotees were observing Chhath puja in Supaul district.
The boy suddenly slept and went deep into the pond at Gandhi Ghat in Supaul town but NDRF rescuers jumped into the pond and rescued him, an NDRF release said.
In another incident, a 14-year-old boy, Ritik Kumar Yadav, was saved from drowning in Ganga at Gaighat in Patna.
Yadav was taking bath along with his family in the Ganga but suddenly collapsed in the river and fell unconscious.
NDRF's 9th battalion Commandant Vijay Sinha said that about 400 rescuers were deployed on various ghats of the Ganga in several districts to avoid any untoward incident during Chhath puja.
A minor girl, however, was not so lucky. She got drowned in a pond in Tappu village under Dighalbank police station of Kishanganj district.
A report from Kishanganj quoting the police said the incident occurred when people went to the pond to offer 'arghya' as part of the puja.
The started searching for Diksha whose body was later found in the village pond.
