Disclosing this here, Gurdaspur SSP Rajjit Singh Senior said that the killers of Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) Ashwani Kumar (46) who was allegedly murdered at his house, on Saturday night were arrested.
The four arrested included the victim's daughter Ekas (18) who got her father killed by her paramour Hari Om and his two associates, he said.
Om's associates Anmoldeep Sharma and Mithu Kumar were arrested while Zorawar Singh was still absconding, SSP said.
Ekas had an affair with Hari Om from the last three years and her father Ashwani Kumar was opposing it.
The SSP said that police has also arrested a Ranjit Singh for killing his father-in-law Gurcharan Singh of district Batala.
He said that a case was registered in this connection on March 10.
Meanwhile, police also busted a racket indulging in the circulation of fake Indian currency by arresting three persons including a woman and recovered Rs 55,000 of fake Indian currency notes from them.
