Two newborns died at a government primary health center here in Shahpur, triggering protest by family members who alleged negligence by health staff.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Subodh Kumar said the babies died soon after delivery late yesterday night.
An inquiry report has been sought into the deaths while two health center staffs, Dolly and Raman, have been suspended, he said.
The CMO said, Shabnam, wife of Mursaleem, and Billo, wife of Khursheed, were admitted to the health centre around the same time yesterday.
The inquiry will reveal the cause of death, he said, adding that relatives misbehaved with staff following the incident.
