Ontimitta circle inspector Ulasaiah said a speeding truck (registration number AP02X7289) hit a four-wheeler auto-rickshaw when passengers were getting down from it at Mantampalli.
Both the truck and the rickshaw were heading for Kadapa from Rajampeta.
Y Venkatasubbaiah (46) and his son Y Ramana (24), residents of Patur village in Nandalur mandal, and Udeedulla (45) and his son Hidaytulla (26), residents of Kadapa, died in the accident.
Four injured persons were sent to Rajampeta government hospital.
