Two policemen were today gunned down when four unidentified armed men attacked a police checkpost in troubled Baluchistan province's capital city Quetta.
Two constables, Azizullah and Saifullah, were shot dead when the four bike-borne assailants fired at them at the checkpost on the busy Saryab road in the Bibi Nani Ziarat area, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Quetta, Syed Imtiaz Shah, said.
The attackers escaped after the attack, Shah said adding that no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Saryab road, which is the main artery road in Quetta has witnessed numerous bomb attacks and target killings by militants and separatists.
