Two women feared drowned in Bhavani river

Two women have heen suspected to be drowned in the gush of water in Bhavani river at Mettupalayam, about 40 Kms from here today, police said.
Zannat Nisha (21) and Nilofarunissa (10) were part of a 10-member family, who went to the river for bathing.
The family did not hear the alarm sound for release of the water from a sluice gate at Oomapalayam and caught in the sudden gush of waters.
While eight members were either managed to escape on their own or rescued, there was no trace of Zannat and Nilofarunnisa, police said.
