were electrocuted while they were carrying a Ganesh idol from neighbouring Mumbai to Ulhasnagar here, police said today.
The boys were a part of a group of devotees that was taking the idol to township no.3 in Ulhasnagar yesterday evening for installation ahead of the Ganesh festival, an official from Police Control Room said.
On their way, a part of the trolley on which the idol was placed, came in contact with a high tension wire, electrocuting the two boys.
A case of accidental death has been registered with Central police station.
The deceased were identified as Hitesh Kumar (17) and Haresh Lal (20).
