The Human Resource Development Ministry has also sought the link -- www.vidyalakshmi.co.in -- be put up on the home pages of websites of higher educational institutions (HEIs) so that maximum number of students can avail the benefit of the service, the UGC said.
"Keeping in view the importance of the portal, all the HEIs are requested to give due publicity to this initiative by placing the relevant information regarding the portal on the home page of their university's and institution's website.
Managed by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd, the first-of-its kind portal for students seeking education loan was launched in August 2015.
