British prosecutors said that they will not charge six former News of the World journalists over alleged phone hacking by staff of the tabloid's features desk.
The six were arrested in February 2013 on suspicion of conspiracy to intercept telephone communications.
The Crown Prosecution Service said today that it had decided there was "insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction."
The journalists were among dozens of people arrested after revelations that the now-defunct Rupert Murdoch-owned tabloid had eavesdropped on the voice mail messages of hundreds of people in the public eye.
Six others, including former editor Andy Coulson and several news desk editors, have been convicted of a separate conspiracy to hack phones.
Coulson, who also served as UK Prime Minister David Cameron's communications chief, is serving an 18-month jail sentence.
