Aiming to increase educational exchanges between India and UK, O P Jindal Global University and London's Queen Mary University have entered into a partnership facilitating academic exchange and co-operation in the field of humanities and social sciences.
Both the universities have joined hands and would engage in joint initiatives for collaborative teaching, research, exchange of academic staff and students and workshops to promote excellence in the social sciences based on historic linkages between the Indian and British educational systems.
The agreement was signed in London between the Vice Chancellor of O P Jindal Global University, C Raj Kumar and President of Queen Mary University, Simon Gaskell.
"UK-India higher education cooperation is a central pillar of relations between our two countries in the 21st century. Our concrete collaborations with Queen Mary University of London will open new vistas in joint programming and research in the humanities and social sciences within the Commonwealth context and offer a new model for globalisation of higher education," Kumar said in a statement issued by the varsity.
While signing the agreement, Professor Gaskell said, "There are of course long standing historical ties between our two nations and this partnership will see us both playing our parts in strengthening and developing these ties in a fast changing global environment.
