The Governor will release the stamp at a function to be held in collaboration with the postal department at Raj Bhawan on December 23, a Raj Bhawan release here said.
Notably, it is for the first time that a postage stamp is being issued in the memory of any literary personality of Uttarakhand.
Impressed deeply by the writings of Pant, the Governor had sent a proposal to the Centre in June this year recommending conferment of the honour on the great 'Chhayavaadi' poet of the 20th century.
He has more than 24 works to his credit including anthologies of poetry, verse dramas and essays.
Childambara, Veena, Pallav, Gunjan, Gramya, Yugant, Yugvani, Lokayatan, kala and Boodha Chaand are among his well known works.
He was awarded with Padmabhushan (1961), Jnanapeeth (1968), Sahitya Akademi and Soviet Land Nehru awards for his contribution to Hindi literature.
Pant passed away on December 28 in 1977.
The function will be attended by the poet's close relatives.
