During a joint operation launched by a team of 159 Field Regiment and Police from Udalguri in village Uttar Borpukhuri, under Kalaigaon police station, the ULFA (I) militant was killed in exchange of fire with the Army-Police party, IGP Dr L R Bishnoi told PTI.
One unexploded hand grenade lobbed by the militant and 2 pistols with ammunition, mobiles, etc. Were recovered from the encounter site, Bishnoi said.
The slain extremist was suspected to be dreaded cadre Dipak Bora alias Bikram Asom, the IGP said, adding, investigations are on.
