Pawan, a resident of Bhairokheda village and accused of robbery, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the washroom of barrack number 2, jail authorities said.
The matter came to light this morning when during attendance Pawan was found missing, Vice Superintendent Sewa Singh said.
He was later found hanging from the ceiling of the prison's washroom, Singh said.
Pawan was arrested on October 11 for looting Rs 1.5 lakh from a petrol pump in July and was then sent to judicial custody.
The judicial magistrate is looking into the incident, the authorities said.
