A 31-year-old undertrial committed suicide in district jail here today by hanging himself from a tree, police said.
Dharmendra Sengar alias Surendra (31), who was undergoing life imprisionment in a murder case, hanged himself from a tree inside the jail premises, they said.
Surendra was awarded life sentence by court in connection with murder of Manoj Agarwal in 2007.
He had fled from the police custody last year in July when he was being transferred from Naini jail to Etawah but was later arrested, police added.
