This is almost 30 per cent additional sites being deployed and the exercise will be completed within the next three months. Post-expansion, Uninor will have close to 3,500 network sites in Andhra Pradesh, a company release said here.
The expansion comes on the back of Uninor achieving financial break-even in its Andhra Pradesh circle last year. Uninor has acquired an additional 1.4 MHz of spectrum in Andhra Pradesh in 1800MHz band.
This strengthening of spectrum will lead to superior voice and data services, said the company, a joint venture of India's Unitech and Norway telecom major Telenor.
Uninor currently serves over 4.5 million subscribers across Andhra Pradesh, the release added.
