The centre having seat capacity of 100 and provide job opportunity to 150 boys and girls is the first in the state, the minister said.
The Centre is providing grant for starting BPO centres across the country for a total of 48,600 seats. Out of this, 4600 seats are earmarked for Bihar in different towns, a release said.
Addressing the inauguration function, Ravishankar Prasad said that the country was moving towards "digital revolution" under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In addition, BPO centres would be started soon in Muzaffarpur and Dalsingsarai.
The minister said that in 2016-17 the country exported software items worth Rs 7 lakh crore in which contribution of IT/ITES companies was Rs 3 lakh crore.
In Bihar IT companies made an export of Rs 9 crore in fiscal 2016-17, he said.
Prasad said in addition to Patna, software technology parks would soon be opened in Bhagalpur and Darbhanga.
