Union minister's brother praises Mamata

Congress leader Abu Naser Khan Chowdhury, younger brother of Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury, today praised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her efforts in developing the state.
The steps taken by Banerjee, also the Trinamool Congress president, to develop the state was praiseworthy, Khan Chowdhury said.
"This is the correct step for a backward state like West Bengal," a senior member of the Khan Chowdhury family told a press conference here in Malda district of north Bengal.
Both the union minister and Abu Naser Khan Chowdhury were brothers of the late ABA Ghani Khan Chowdhury, former Railway minister.

Satyaranjan Dasmunshi, younger brother of ailing Congress leader and former union minister Priyaranjan Dasmunshi has joined the ruling Trinamool Congress a month ago. Dasmunshi family hailed from another north Bengal district, North Dinajpur.
Meanwhile, Khan Chowdhurys' niece and North Malda MP Mausam Noor took over as the president of Malda district Congress replacing the union minister, her maternal uncle.
