United Sports Club will be keen to return to winning ways when they face Shillong Lajong who will resume their I-League campaign in the round 18 fixture here tomorrow.
United SC conceded a second-half stoppage time goal to settle for a heartaching 1-1 draw against Mumbai FC in their first match after the break.
The draw also denied technical director Subrata Bhattacharya the perfect start to his second innings as the purple brigade's winless run in the I-League stretched to seven matches.
Seven points clear of rock-bottom Rangdajied United FC, United will be determined to get full points with new-look strike pairing of Eric Brown and Waheed who showed promise against Mumbai.
That Shillong Lajong will be playing their first I-League game since the break in December last will give the local challengers an edge.
This match will be the first of their remaining six away matches. Lajong have won three of their five away matches so far but this will be their first trip to Kolkata of this campaign and they have failed to win an away game against United SC on three previous attempts.
The Meghalaya outfit is currently fourth and only seven points off the top and thus have every chance of winning the title.
They have won three of their last four I-League games and will certainly be fresher than United SC, who played seven additional fixtures during the near two-month break.
Lajong's Federation Cup campaign was a mixed bag as they won two matches by the scoreline of 4-0 but were thrashed 0-6 by Mohun Bagan to miss the semi-finals.
