Unity crucial to build modern nation: VP

Vice President Hamid Ansari today extended his greetings and best wishes to Indian citizens for the occasion of Republic Day on January 26.
Noting the significance of the solemn day, Ansari said that as we pay tribute to the republic, let us resolve to work together in a spirit of unity and camaraderie to build a modern, secular and prosperous nation.
Meanwhile, National Service Scheme (NSS) Contingent Volunteers, who have gathered in the capital from all parts of the country to participate in the Republic Day celebration, called on the Vice President at his residence here today.
The Vice President interacted with the volunteers and wished them success, a release said.
