Three persons were killed and five others injured when a three-wheeler carrying eight persons collided head on with a truck in Rasra police station area here, police said today.
The accident took place around 2 am on the Ballia-Ghazipur road, they said.
Apart from the three persons who were killed, including Moti Chauhan (45) and Gurjar Kharwar (40), five persons were injured in the accident, Inspector (Rasra) Jagdish Chandra Yadav said.
The victims were residents of Kasimabad (Ghazipur), the official added.
Police said the injured persons have been hospitalised, while the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem.
