UP: 5 killed in road accident, over 12 injured

Five people were killed and nearly a dozen injured today after their tractor-trolley was hit by a truck near Jarianpur here, police said.
The accident took place around 9.00 pm when they were going to the Dhaaighat. They were going there to take a dip in the Ganga tomorrow on Poornima, Circle Officer, Jalalabad, Baldev Singh Khandela, said.
They were all residents of Girgicha village
The deceased were identified as Ram Bhajan (54) and his 50-year-old wife Chhabile, and Ramkali (45). Sonu (9), succumbed to injuries at the district hospital, he said.
The identity of the rest is yet to be ascertained, police said.

The injured were hospitalised, police said, and the driver of the truck is at large.
