UP BJP chief stopped from visiting clash-hit village

Uttar Pradesh BJP President Laxmikant Bajpai was today stopped along with his supporters when he was going to meet victims of a clash in Amethi town last week that had left one person dead and several injured.
The BJP leader and his supporters were on way to Dehli Mubarakpur village when they were stopped by police, SDM (Sadar) S N Singh said.
The BJP leader and his supporters staged a protest at the DM's residence and were later allowed to meet the victims, who were called by the administration there.
On the night of August 31, one person was killed while several others were injured after a clash broke out between rival factions in the village. A number of houses were also set ablaze in the incident.
