Taking note of BSP workers allegedly using "abusive" language against the minor daughter of expelled BJP leader Dayashankar Singh, Uttar Pradesh Commission for Protection of Child Rights today directed the administration to provide it the video footage of the incident.
"We have taken cognisance of the matter and a complaint has been filed with us regarding the alleged use of abusive language against Singh's minor daughter at a protest by BSP workers," Chairperson of the Commission Juhi Singh said.
"We have asked the district administration, which had got the entire dharna filmed, to provide us the footage. It will reach us by Tuesday. Only after examining the video, the Commission will be able to tell what has been said and recommend action," she said.
Earlier in the day, an FIR was filed against Mayawati and some of her party leaders by police on a complaint by the family of Singh whose whereabouts were not known after he kicked up a controversy by questioning the character of the BSP supremo.
Singh's mother Tetra Devi filed the complaint alleging BSP leaders raised "derogatory" slogans at the party protest in Lucknow yesterday in which his 12-year-old daughter was also dragged into the row.
