Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said he would go to trouble-torn Muzaffarnagar district and meet family members of riot victims.

"I will go there and meet family of victims...There was an attempt to vitiate atmosphere and give it a communal colour," he told reporters after SP National Executive meet here.

He, however, did not specify the date of his visit.

Asked about Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's statement regarding hand of a political party in Muzaffarnagar violence, Yadav said if he had said so he must have some information regarding this.

"He (Shinde) must have some knowledge if is saying so," he added.
