The raid at the residence of Gorakh Prasad Jaiswal was carried out in connection with the murder of the former MP's driver by his private guard in Barhaj area in Deoria.
"SP Deoria had carried out the raid yesterday in which two static wireless sets and six hand-held sets were recovered," police said here today.
Taking the matter seriously, DGP Jain has asked DGP, Telecom to conduct a detailed inquiry and ascertain as to how Jaiswal came into possession of the equipment.
When contacted, Jaiswal's family claimed that the set were issued from Lucknow to the ex-MP's son Ram Prasad when he was BSP MLA from Barhaj constituency.
