Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, Ramesh Yadav has directed the state government to transfer the executive engineer accused of threatening Congress MLC Dinesh Singh.
The chairman had last night asked the government to take stern action against the engineer and record the incident in his service book.
S K Sinha, executive engineer, Rae Bareli Development Authority, had appeared before the bar in the Upper House yesterday and tendered an unconditional apology for his act.
The official claimed that he had never uttered any words against anyone intentionally.
"If anyone has been hurt by my words, I tender an unconditional apology," he said.
Sinha also stated that he could never imagine to insult any MLA, MLC or any other public representative.
However, Leader of Opposition Ahmed Hasan (SP) and other leaders demanded harsh punishment for the official.
Congress MLC Dinesh Singh had moved a privilege motion in the House on May 18 alleging that Sinha had "misbehaved and threatened him with dire consequences on May 17 when he had called the engineer for resolving the grievance of a local citizen.
