The Uttar Pradesh government tonight announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 30 lakh to each of the two CRPF jawans from the state who fell to Naxal bullets in Chhattisgarh.
The decision was taken at a meeting of state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, which also condemned the Sukma attack and expressed condolences for the soliders who laid down their lives for the country.
"Rs 30 lakh compensation will be given to kin of CRPF personnel who were martyred in the Sukma attack," UP minister Shrikant Sharma told mediapersons after the meeting.
In one of the deadliest attacks, Naxals ambushed a CRPF contingent in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district yesterday, killing at least 25 personnel.
