UP govt launches 110 bridge projects in a day

Racing against time before the model code of conduct is enforced ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Uttar Pradesh government today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 110 bridge projects worth Rs 1,327 crore.
At a function held at UP Bridge Corporation headquarters here, PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 110 projects related to bridges, an official release said.
These projects included 49 long bridges, 22 railway over bridges, 39 minor bridges, it said.
Addressing a gathering, Yadav said the projects had been launched with a view to connect backward areas.
Directives have been issued for timely completion of the construction work, he added.
