Up govt order for peace during festival season

Uttar Pradesh government today directed all district officials to make necessary arrangements for ensuring peace during the coming festival season of Diwali, Muharram and Chhath and warned that in case of any untoward incident they would be held responsible.
Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan, who held a video conference with the administrative and police officials of all districts, asked them to make arrangements in advance for the coming festival season, an official release said.
"Sensitive places should be identified and all necessary steps be taken in advance. In case of any untoward incident anywhere, the responsibility of the officials concerned would be fixed and stern action would be taken against them," he said.

Ranjan directed holding of meetings with leaders of different religious groups and leading citizens immediately so as to resolve any pending problem.
