Taking a serious note of public complaints regarding sub standard works, the Uttar Pradesh government today suspended two chief engineers of Jal Nigam.
Presiding over a JNNURM meeting here, state urban development minister Azam Khan suspended chief engineers of Jal Nigam in Faizabad and Lucknow for laxity in not bringing the issues concerned to the notice of their seniors, an official spokesman said.
The action was taken on public complaints of sub-standard work.
The minister also ordered transfer of Agra municipal commissioner D K Singh for misbehaving with the mayor of Agra during the course of today's meeting.
Khan warned officials against wasting public funds and said the money would be realised from those found guilty.
