UP govt to consider allowing PMS doctors to attend int'l meets

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said that the state government would seriously consider granting permission to doctors of Provincial Medical Services (PMS) to attend international seminars.
Addressing the convention of PMS Association today, the Chief Minister said that international seminars provide new experiences to doctors, therefore his government would seriously consider granting permission to PMS doctors to attend them.
The state does not allow PMS doctors to attend such global meets till now.
Akhilesh said that medical and health department was directly related to the people and due to facilities being provided by the government and cooperation of the doctors, faith in government-run hospitals has increased.
The CM said that more than one crore patients were treated in the last one year in government hospitals, making it clear that facilities being provided by the government in medical sector was reaching the public.
He said that the government was working to provide better basic facilities in hospitals in rural areas adding that steps were being taken to ensure availability of doctors in such regions.
Akhilesh said that several decisions have been taken to provide better facilities to doctors and para-medical staff posted in remote areas.
He said that more improvements would be made in health services so that maximum relief could be provided to the public.
He also released souvenir of the association Sankalp.
