UP govt to formulate policy on rivers

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said that his government would soon formulate a policy, which would focus on rivers.
"Our government is serious on the problem of water crisis and will soon formulate policy, which would focus on rivers", Yadav said in a meeting with Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh at his official residence here.
During the meeting, Singh expressed his concern over water crisis in Bundelkhand region on which Yadav assured that he would himself oversee work of ponds and take lax officers to task.
Yadav asked minister Rajendra Chowdhury to coordinate with Singh and remain in his contact for projects related to water.
