UP Bar Council Chairman Ajay Kumar Shukla said the demands include enhancing the value of group insurance for laywers to Rs 5 lakh from the existing Rs 50,000 and monthly stipend for young advocates.
Shukla said lawyers staged protest at various courts of the state. He said in the next phase of agitation, a signed memorandum will be send to the government on August 26.
After that, a day-long dharna will be staged at district and tehsil headquarters on September 17 followed by a mahapanchayat.
