"The allegations in the complaint is of serious nature. A case has been filed in the matter and reply has been sought from Thakur by August 6. The charges will be thoroughly probed," Lokayukta N K Mehrotra told PTI today.
On July 21, RTI activist Sanjay Sharma has submitted 60-70 page complaint alleging that Thakur misused his position as IG and both he and his wife possessed properties disproportionate to their known sources of income.
"Prima facie, it appears that both the husband and wife possess some 57,000 sqft of residential land which cannot be bought over by an honest public servant and so I have demanded that the sources of the income through which it has been acquired should also be probed," Sharma said in his complaint.
"Their immovable properties should also be investigated," he said, adding he has also demanded a probe to see if any racket was going on through their NGOs.
