UP police reviews law and order amid high alert post-Pathankot
Press Trust of India Lucknow Amid high alert sounded in the wake of Pathankot terror attack, Uttar Pradesh top police officials today reviewed the overall security scenario in the state and decided to beef up security at vulnerable points.
"Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked police to step up vigil so that any terror attempt can be thwarted and peace is maintained in the state," a government spokesman said here.
He said DGP Javeed Ahmad reviewed the law and order scenario with zonal IGs and range DIGs.
The state has some key defence and strategic installations.

A review of security arrangements was also done by the home department during a high-level meeting, an official spokesman said here.
He said after the attack, the home department immediately issued an advisory to all the districts to remain alert.
During the meeting held by Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda and DGP Javeed Ahmad, the officials were directed to ensure that no laxity in security is shown.
It was directed that adequate security arrangements should be made at public places.
The officials were also directed that wherever required, checking should be done by bomb disposal and dog squads.
