Amid pick up in demand at domestic spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices traded higher by 0.49 per cent to Rs 999.40 per kg in futures market today as participants enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April rose by Rs 4.90, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 999.40 per kg, in a business turnover of 134 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in May went up by Rs 4.20, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 1,002.90 per kg in eight lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by traders due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against tight stocks on fall in arrivals from Chandausi led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
