Urad, its dal remain up on rising demand

In restricted activities, urad and its dal prices were up by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on rising demand from retailers.
However, other pulses traded in a narrow range on little activities and pegged at last levels.
Traders said besides rising demand from retailers, tight stocks positions and fall in supplies from producing regions mainly kept urad and its dal prices higher.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local rose further by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,900-7,500 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,600-7,100 and Rs 7,000-7,200 per quintal.
