The car was taking two siblings from Los Angeles and other passengers to neighbouring Sitamarhi district when the accident occurred on NH-77 at Kataujha bridge.
Aziz Celin Lucy, 28-year-old US national, and Pankaj Kumar died on the spot, while four others sustained injuries, including Lucy's brother Jack Aziz (25), the police said.
All the injured were taken to a local hospital from where Jack Aziz was shifted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital in a serious condition.
