USD 1.9 mn marijuana seized in the Bahamas

Authorities have seized some 953 kilograms of marijuana from a boat they say docked in the Bahamas after it was seen speeding through nearby waters.
The US Justice Department said yesterday that the marijuana is estimated to be worth more than USD 1.9 million.
Officials with the US Drug Enforcement Administration and Bahamas police arrested eight Bahamians they say were hiding nearby.
The boat was docked on the west end of Grand Bahama Island.
